Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Theta Zeta Lambda Chapter and the Theta Zeta Lambda Scholarship Fund will award multiple scholarships to deserving high-school seniors planning to attend college in the upcoming year.
Strong candidates will have demonstrated improved self-esteem, academic performance, social awareness, problem-solving and decision-making skills during their high-school careers. The scholarship is non-renewable. Since the early 1980s, Theta Zeta Lambda has awarded to high-school students more than 150 scholarships totaling more than $100,000.
In November of 2014, The Theta Zeta Lambda Scholarship Fund Trust, which was established in 1985, was re-established as an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity created to receive tax-deductible endowment gifts.
Esquire Leadership & Mentoring Program
The Theta Zeta Lambda Chapter provides a comprehensive mentoring program for young males ages 12 - 17 called The Esquire Leadership & Mentoring Program (ELMP). The program is committed to the development of black young men academically, socially, and personally with a central focus on higher education and service to mankind. ELMP aims to prepare young men to become the most respected and sought-after socially conscious, college-educated, black men who are leaders of our communities, schools, businesses, politics, churches, and families.
